That is what the FAA is predicting. Here is the JPDO (Joint Planning and Development Office) NextGen overview. It's worth a read since a lot of you will be operating in this new environment! http://www.jpdo.gov/library/NGATS_v1_1204r.pdf A lot of work is going on now to define the concept of operations for the 2025 time frame. In fact, one of the things we're doing right now is figuring out the whole flight data processing portion. It will be 4D trajectories, data-linked clearances, self-separation (for capable aircraft) etc. Some interesting stuff! |

| I agree we do need an overhaul of our system; GPS is an awesome solution… In my opinion VOR/High and Low altitude airways are/should be obsolete. Real time, no delay GPS tracking is ideal. And it should be government assisted funding. It would save tame, and cut fuel cost dramatically. So with that said, invest in Garmin or AVIDYN, but I don’t like AVIDYN… kinda...
