LOL , I know that makes me equal with a Gulf Stream FO or an AXE murder!

When you have to fly BROKEN airplanes , in BAD weather for rich people who don't like to hear the word NO , at least I can practice the approach beforehand ! A single engine , no gyro , no radio , pump the gear down , cat3A approach in a HAIL Strom , at least you've practiced it a few times the night before !

Ok, I hate to nitpick, but...

I'm an 800 hour pilot that's flying Chieftains around in crap weather (mostly thanks to the smog in LA). I'm not some #### hot pilot and I can still manage to fly an approach without having to fly it the night before.

And further, are you advocating that you're flying equipment that is unairworthy? Because that's what it sounds like.

Are you flying in weather that you shouldn't be flying in? Ducking below minimums?

Cat IIIA approach eh? I didn't know any folks that were not working for a 121/135/great 91 corporate department that were doing those.

Your use of aviation terms is poor at best, and if you're a real pilot then you have zero judgement. I think you're a flight sim kid.

Not trying to jump on the bandwagon....
but
I think rather then doing approaches in MSFS the night before I'd read some books on ADM.

Exactly why do you "need to know" the systems of an aircraft to play a computer game?

I'd like to know when Microsoft is going to develop "Surgery Simulator 2007" so that I can second-guess every doctor in the world. Maybe we'll be able to download ER or Grey's Anatomy scenery to make it more realistic.

There's already an Army Simulator... http://www.goarmy.com/aarmy/

America's Army provides civilians with an inside perspective and a virtual role in today's premier land force: the U.S. Army. The game is designed to provide an accurate portrayal of Soldier experiences.
The game is an entertaining way for young adults to be educated about the U.S. Army and see some of the career opportunities available to Soldiers in the U.S. Army — all this as a virtual Soldier. America's Army emphasizes teamwork, values and responsibility as means to achieving the goals.
As real as it gets?

I was told one, by a school kid, "Corporal, I'm a Major in ROTC, and I don;t think it's apporpriate . . . "

I think I made him cry . . .

Thanks
Microsoft Flight Simulater has the Lear 45, and CRJ-700... But wound't use it as getting to know the system, as all you have to do is Press CTRL+E Start the engines, then your ready to take off.....

Edit: I take that back its good for learning all the intruments work. You can all kinds of stuff with that, VOR/DME/GPS/ILS stc etc... the sim is awesome for that to see how all that works.. its cool

Edit: I dont care enough to fix my typos, because I am typing with one hand and feeding a baby with the other...

Nope, the Regionals are WAY too cheap to pay for that option. What you can do though is pretend to be really busy with the FMS during pushback and the captain will get tired of waiting and just start them for you.

You're so wrong dude, before you hit SHIFT+P to push back you have to hit the ~ and choose a pre-selected ATC clearance for taxi, than if you have no charts for the airport, you select progressive taxi, then a cool line with arrows tells you where to go.

Get it right dude. Newbs..
