Hey all, I realize that many are probably tired of reading these posts, but I'm looking for a little help. After reading many threads, I have taken into account the debt burden that I would be putting on myself with 100% financing. The only problem is it would take me too long to reach my aviation goals if I paid as I went because of personal bills, living expenses, etc. Ultimately, I have to take out loans for my training. My question to you all is does anyone know of any grants available? This may be a silly question, but I'm trying to travel all avenues of approach to avoid being 60K in the hole and standing in a shallow grave. Thanks for your time and I'm looking forward to hearing from all.

Delta Connection Academy, Ari-Ben Aviator are ACCSCT and VA Approved. Flight Safety Academy has lots of financing options too.

| Well, if this was easy, anybody could do it. Do yourself a favor and keep your debt to a minimum. You'll be very glad you did, and it's not going to put you back that much. In the end you'll probably be much further ahead than your colleagues that went into a bunch of debt.

Ask SteveC to get you his big compilation of "financing" threads. He doesn't think you should finance flight training and it is good information in my opinion.

To paraphrase Garrison Keillor: Easy financing. Everything down, no monthly payments.

buy a 152 for about $15-20K and then find an independant instructor who will most likely charge around $30-40/hr. That is the cheapest way to do this. When you are all done with your training you can either use your plane as a CFI to teach others or you can sell it and get all your money back from it.

I don't see anything wrong with it. The hard part is finding an IFR equiped 152 but they are out there. Hindsight 20/20 I would have taken this route.
