Default Re: AOPA Petition Against User Fees

You're not going to see much debate from the pro-user fee side of this issue other than a contninuous repetition of 'fair share, fair share', an argument which has been thorougly discredited and discounted.

Is anyone else wondering why the (few) people in favor of user fees have no answer to "GA already does pay their fair share!"? It's because they don't have an answer, because they already know it's true. The user-fee thing is nothing more than a thinly-veiled attempt to get bargaining power for higher pay on the backs of General Aviation, the place from which most pilots in 121 ops come from.

It's such a greedy, shortsighted, and uttery absurd proposition I'm quite honestly amazed that anyone with two brain cells to rub together would support it, but I suppose there's always going to be that so-called "10%". I'm pretty certain that you could propose balancing the federal budget by selling all newborn babies to foreign slave-traders, and someone, somewhere, would support it beyond all argument.

Why is this thread even still going?
