hey guys... new here, hewwo but im pondering something. right now im workin on my PPL.. yes, the almighty PPL. but when is it that i should start worrying about what kind of flying I'll be wanting to pursue in the future? part-121, part-135, cargo, charter, fractionals, etc... and what are the pros and cons to both as to why people choose what they do?thanks in advance! matteo |

There are going to be a hundred different people with a hundred different answers. There are also going to be a good amount of people who thought they were going to go one way and ended up going another. I would say don't worry about the type of flying you'll be doing a few years from now. Aviation has a lot of different roads. You'll meet people during your training, and get a whole bunch of different opportunities. You'll find your way eventually, just start training and enjoy flying for what it is..... | |

I'll quote a 777 Captain at my school. "If your ultimate goal is to fly trip sevens then you will be dissapointed till you get to that point. Just enjoy every day and try to learn as much as you can." Point is your doing the fun part of flying right now....the training. You'll have plenty of time to worry about that crappy job stuff....so Dont worry about it!! Have fun and good luck on the PPL. |

When you are "building time" toward your commercial license, fly a lot at night, fly instruments, and fly airport to airport. It's great experience, fun, and you'll be knocking out Part 135 reqs. That said, make sure you go out and have some time kicking it around during the day too. I spent a few months only flying at night and my first day landing back was pretty sub par. I'm working on the almighty commercial license now, and my only real regret was not getting my instrument rating earlier and not having enough money to do more aerobatics (I've got roughly 100hrs night, 100hrs simulated instrument with like 1.5 hour actual, and almost all of my time is airport-airport xc). Oh, and take cute girls up when you get your PPL.

The best part about aviation is whatever you're doing right now to work on it. There is no greener grass when you're flying. Because the view is the same, the only thing that changes is the frame you look through.
