Default ERAU or FSA?

I'm a freshman at ERAU (Aeronautical Science)......I have to honestly say that I'm a little frustrated with ERAU . My time here has made question how much I want the degree vs. how much I want my license(s). I really want to fly and I'm thinking about putting the degree on hold and going to a place like Flight Safety Academy, where I can fully focus on my flying, possibly instruct there and build hours, and probably work on an online degree on the side.

Should I do that? Or should I head over to UND?

One thing's for sure, I probably won't stay at ERAU (good school, just not for me)

What do you think I should do?

Run from ERAU. Get your ratings at ATP (or somewhere similar) get your degree and BAM! Your done.

FSA is a serious rip off, IMO.

IMO, LEAVE ERAU!! But don't go to FSA! Go to a "real school" with lots of chicks and have fun. College is as much about having fun and growing up as it is about learning. Take classes in a major that will benefit you down the road, fly on the side, and have lots of fun. Doesn't get better than that. Oh, and you'll save a bundle too.

P.S. I went to ERAU (DAB campus).

What about the degree are you not liking?
Could encounter the same thing at UND so you might want to just not consider aeronautical science for a college degree.

Man, Wheels and Merit, you guys are gonna be on Clr4ILS's dartboard...

If one does a little searching of the site, you'll get an earful on FSA and ERAU. I'd suggest you spend some time with the search feature. There is a whole forum on FSA.

Anyhow, some folks have done the online degree while working a flying job. Maybe they will chime in. Any flight school can get you where you want to be. The bigger academies are overrated, if you ask me, but they are more set up for loan programs and VA benes, so they are a better fit for some. Just don't believe all the marketing mumbo jumbo you'll see and hear.

IW...I got my degree through ERAU's Extended Campus Program while full-time military. My suggestion would be this...if you are interested in the Aero Science degree, then do it through distant learning so you can live/train/work where you want. Go to a flight school and get all of your ratings knocked out while taking a class or two (if you are disciplined enough). You'll be able to dictate when you take the classes and do them when you are ready. You will get the folks on here that will tell you to stay away from degrees in aviation, and not to say that advice isn't good, but YOU need to go to school for what YOU want--not anybody else.

HAHA! I've ALREADY found em! It's amazing how people get so fired up over this! My opinion is: "Do whatever it is YOU think that will get you to the airlines! It's is only YOU that will reap the benefits/sorrows of your training".

Yes. I made that up...hehe, not bad for a college student eh?

I don't believe Blizzue has a dartboard, though he is a student at FSA.
