Company Interviewers

Do you guys think there is an possibility to speak with company interviewers (even if just an email questionaire) about interview technigues? I though I might have one lined up, but due to company issues isnt going to work. I am trying to prep for better mock interviews. I was hoping to get a Regional/Frieght/Charter/Flight schoo/Company Owned. Did I miss any?

Go to Aviationinterviews.com They have great gouge even a study guide for Comair and the likes. You have to register (free) but it has helped many to prepare themselves for the interview.

I do use that, but gained some inside information from an airline HR rep last year that assisted in some of the mock interviews. Trying to get the other side of the desk comments, which hopefully will assist JC'r in the future.

Have you tried talking to a someone who is already at the company(s) that you are interested in? Get them to ask the interviewers your questions for you. I had a few reservations about my technique before my very first professional interview. With the industry in as much need as it has been, you will probably get some very specific advice about the interview. I would imagine recruiters and interviewers get these questions ALOT, especially lately, so just ask someone who works there and they will answer your questions or ask for you. Interview technique is very generalized, inside or outside of aviation. That's why websites like JC and aviationinterviews are very helpful. They provide the "fat" that is most helpful for an aviation interview. You add the fat to what should be a strong knowledge base and an interview technique and you make yourself marketable.

In all honestly, I used aviationinterviews for my last 3 interviews and though it provided a ton of gouge for me, I think 90% of the interview technique for me was HR related. The two big study points for me were the Instrument Oral exam guide and being able to truthfully and simply explain why I really wanted to work for the company and why the company really wanted me there without memorizing canned answers.

Thanks. I do alot of interviewing in my current field, Engineering, and there are some changes from this industry to aviation. It is also impressive to see what a larger 121 outfit does for their interview process from the HR/CP side. I didn't think they would do that, but they were kind enough to give me a copy of their hiring book to allow a better mock interview. I have asked a few on here, but their companies are now either in flux or are too busy hiring to assist.
