As it appears that most (if not all) 121/135 use Jepps chart, would it benifical to start using them instead of the others so that you are used to them at the interview/job?

Sure, if you want to spend the money. I would just familiarize yourself with someone else's expired Jepp plates.

| Senior Member | you really have to look at what part of the country you are in and actually look at how much money you are spending on naco charts. somewhere on this board a year or more ago i did a detailed comparison for texas. for texas naco coverage you need 3 approach books and 3 enroute low charts (iirc) if you want to do anykind of flying in central tx. 3 books and 3 charts bought every 56 days for a year worked out to be very close to what a 1 yr IFR express subscritpion with jepp will cost you. I dont remember the difference but it certainly was not a 'LOT' of money. when comparing, look at the jepp airway express coverage, its cheaper and you get a full set of charts every 56 days (and one revision inbetween sets). |

| Old Skool | OK, not knowing alot about Jepp charts yet, what is the difference between the above mentioned subscription and the express coverage, besides cost?

With the express packs every 56 days you get the entire pack mailed to replace the old one. The other way I think you just get updates all the time instead of a new pack. Could be wrong though Edit-Checked into it and with the standard revision you get revisions every 2 weeks.

Also Jepp makes a Instrument Procedure Manual that is just like the FAA's but with Jepp Examples. And of course its pricey .

| Senior Member | Quote: ~1036.00 for cont. 48 state naco coverage, 1 year coverage (approaches and enroute low coverage) from myairplane the naco service price was determined by ordering 15 enroute low charts @ $4.00, and the myairplane.com subscription to approach plates @ @88.00. a 56 day update cycle makes for 6.5 revisions in a calender year, so i multiplied by 7 so you would have continious coverage for a full year (and you cant buy half a revision). | |

I've heard that the Jepps require more upfront money, but they both add up and Jepp is a better product. You just proved that, thanks!
