Default PIC Logging question

I can't believe I'm asking this, but I've been asking alot of seemingly silly questions in regards to piloting as a profession. Here goes.......When the first officer flies a leg does he log that time as PIC? The reason I ask is because I am assuming that some jobs out there require PIC turbine time and wondered if you just had to stay at your current carrier to upgrade to CA of a jet to get PIC time or if FOs can log some time as PIC?

Man, this one has been beaten to death.

Here's the way I think of it. Anyone else that wants to argue, fine. I'm just giving my opinion. In the 121 world, you have ONE PIC, and that's the guy that signs for the airplane, aka the CA. Even if I HAD a type in the CRJ, I wouldn't log my legs as PIC. Why? I haven't been checked out as a PIC at my company. Sure, you can talk about how the regs let you under 61-whatever, but our Ops Specs say you need a 121 PIC check in order to be PIC. Now, I'm sure there's gonna be at least one person say "Well, if you do it that way you're cheating yourself" blah blah blah. Whatever. I don't agree. I'm perfectly happy with that line of thinking, and like I said, even if I had a type, I wouldn't log it. What other people do is their business.

If the FO has a type rating, then it's perfectly legal to log the legs he/she flies. Only thing is that any company that requires turbine PIC time only counts the ACTING PIC time. Despite the fact that the FO can be logging PIC time, he/she is not the ACTING PIC. Only the captain is, regardless of who's actually flying.

Hey man, no problem. You noticed I actually answered the question (be it in my own sarcastic fashion) instead of just saying "Use the search function, ya big dummy!"
