Default Preparing for class

Alright, so I report for class at Colgan on Jan 8th. I decided since my fiance and I have been long distance for two years I'd just come up and live with her until then. I was fine with the decision until about yesterday. I started to panic about not doing anything aviation related for 3-4 weeks before training. I'm worried that my skills will go to pot. What do you guys think? Have any suggestions for things that I could study?

I guess I'm also a little worried because the whole situation reminds me of two year ago when I made the stupid decision (for me) of going in the Marines. Just because I'm training in VA, starting in January, not sure what to expect. Also despite what I thought was adequate training, I showed up a little out of shape for OCS. I really want to show up to class prepared this time.

Don't worry just relax, not to much to bone up on.

Do get the book though "Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot." Start looking that over, bring it to class, and you will be fine.

The one thing you MUST have at this company is an OPEN mind. With that you will do fine.

I am the dude on the right. I'm the biggest pilot in the company, in the smallest airplane. I am large and in charge. Don't worry you won't miss me.

Seriously, don't sweat it to much. Did they give you an aircraft yet? They are phasing out the 1900 so you will probably be in the Saab. But find out and make sure, let me know and I can give you some info on a real airplane, not that Saab POS.

But it is VERY important you get the book

PS-Does your dad fly for Southwest?

They didn't give me an airplane assignment yet, and yes my Dad fly for Southwest. The first thing he wanted to know was if we were in CASS. He wants me to jumpseat one of his flights, which would be really cool for me.

You'll be fine. Between INDOC and systems, you'll be out of the cockpit for a while, and it is expected. If you get that book, you might want to read up on exemption 3585 and high mins regs.

GOOD LUCK!!!! WE'RE ALL COUNTING ON YOU!

Everytime I inspect the tail of the airplane I find something new, like a Monet or Rembrant.

So they are a fine work of art.

Why Slaabs are POSes? One reason...

My vertical jump has more of a FPM climb than they can give you on cold winters day lightly loaded.

Yep even on a cold winters day it feels like it climbs FOREVER!

During the summer forget it.
