Default PPL study materials

I just started studying for my PPL. I was recommended 'The Complete Private Pilot' by Bob Gardner, and so far I am not a big fan. In the meantime, I've located and ordered a copy of Rod Machado's "Private Pilot Handbook" as I found that it has gotten excellent reviews in the past.

The "Sporty's DVD's" look like a excellent package also. I just don't want to have to purchase 300 dollars of training material before I find something that I like.

I'd love to hear your recommendations!

Thanks
T

I always liked the King DVDs. They have simple pneumonics and tricks to teaching you what you must know for your checkride.

Plus, Martha is hawt!

One word

Gleim

Just don't buy their kits. . . rip off much like every other training kit available from any other training provider. But nevertheless, Gleim, a FAR/AIM, and the Airplane Flying handbook (and those other FAA handbooks) will teach you what you need to know.

Nothing can beat experience though.

what I am studying and seems to be working just fine, is the Jeppesen part 141 kit. It includes a flight bag with everything you need in it to complete your ppl training. You can also purchase the jepp 141 ppl videos as well. Visual aids seem to be a little more understandable. You really can't go wrong with King or Gleim either. My advise is pick one of the three and stick with it.
