I'm looking for ways to prepare for my ATP Exam. I have the Gleim book but going through it is slow and tedious, when learning 121 and 135 regs. I use to use MyWrittenExam.com for other tests, but they don't offer ATP stuff. Any good prep stuff, thats cheap or free?

The Gliem book you have is probably your best bet. The 121 & 135 chapters are actually some of the easier ones in the ATP book. The IFR and aircraft performance chapters are a real bitch. As for the regs chapters, I just read through the chapter content one and time and that was all I needed. After that I answered all the questions and got about 90%. I used the Gliem Software version insted of the book, but I can't immagine it saved that much time over just the book. In fact, to learn the material its easier to read it out of the book than print it out from the software or read it on the computer. The only real advantage to the software is to keep track of your performance and help you learn where you need more study, not so much to save time in answering the questions. If you read through the chapter content a few times, that should be all you need. Don't try to memorize all 1500 questions, if you know the material you won't have to.

I have both the Gleim books and the software. Some people just learn better reading, others using the software. I personally love the software for the practise testing you can do again and again and as was said above, tracks your performance, lets you know where you are deficient, and is in the same format as you will see on the actual test.

I have the ASA Prepware. It's much less expensive that the Gleim. I think both are very good.

asa prepware was great for me. I love how it tracks the questions that you miss, tracks progress, lets you re-take the test or certain sections without having to pretent that you don't see the eraser mark on the gleim book! i loaded it on my laptop and hit it up the night before my interview. Came in pretty handy. One of the best aviation study investments i've ever made.
