Hello All, If anyone here is familair with the warsaw convention I can use your help, A customer left their dvd player and dvd's on board the A/C and has put a claim in with us, according to her it is covered under the warsaw convention. I read through it a few times and the paragraph that may describe this is as clear as mud, it reads as follows " As regards objects of which the passenger takes charge himself the liability of the carrier is limited to five thousand francs (332 special drawing rights) per passenger". Now normally anything left on board the A/C is considered lost and found and we would not cover it. Does this change on an int'l flight? I appreciate any help that you could provide.

I would say this would count if the plane crashed and the item was destroyed. If the passenger just left it on the plane, I'd say he's SOL. The Warsaw Convention and the Hague Convention define damages the airline is repsonsible for. IMO, leaving your own personal stuff on a plane and later saying the airline owes you doesn't count. Otherwise, I'd leave a lot of stuff on the plane and cash out......
