Default Hundred Dollar Hamburger

Just trying to get some ideas of some good Hundred Dollar Hamburger joints around the country. Any contributions are appreciated. I'll start by saying any of the three Lambert's Cafes located in Foley Alabama (5R4), Ozark Missouri (2K2), and Sikeston Missouri (SIK). www.throwedrolls.com if anyone's interested.

Where else?

I love this place. Land on a grass strip, taxi down main street, stop at the stop sign and park in front of the hotel. Really good bread pudding also. They have a cafe that is pretty good. Call ahead for runway conditions and hours. This place is between ICT and CNU on the Kansas City sectional near the wind farm.

K81 is another good location. Miami Cnty Airport near Paola KS. Has good barbeque and breakfast. If you go on a weekend morning beware, the place is like O' Hare without a tower and tons of old timers in taildraggers without radios.

Lots of cool airplanes pass through and the food is good.

Nancy's Airport Cafe (KWLW) in Willows, CA...is a neat little place to stop. Open 24 hours and has killer pies. The waitresses don't have all their teeth, but if you can get past that, the food is great!

I flew into Harris Ranch (3O8) a couple of weeks ago. Awesome Steakhouse/GiftShop and a Hotel. Just brush up on your crosswind skillz, the runway is only 30 ft wide and there aren't any taxiways so be aware of A/C taxiing on the runway. Self Serv Shell 100LL is available as is a shuttle to the Hotel.

Pilot Pete's at 06C. Great restaurant right in the terminal. Probably one of the nicest airport restaurants I've seen...too bad I fly out of 06C!

The burgers at Kern Valley Airport (L05) east of Bakersfield, CA, are great. Best fly-in camping in CA, too! Just make sure you know what you're doing in the mountains before you visit . . .

I've eaten at Nancy's in the past. Great BLT's and 'Tater salad and I hear that they're really busy on the weekends during breakfast hours.
