Default Aerial Fire Fighting

I know it's a long way off (my training contract isn't up for another 8 months,) but does anybody know the names of the companies that operate the fire fighting aircraft for the California Department of Forestry. I tried searching the threads but not enough specific information. I just want to know a little more about the job itself, so anybody that has flown fire suppression or lead planes, please post your experiences here. This is the job that I have always wanted and after my homestate's one provider went out of business, I have a lot of unanswered questions. Thanks.

Dyncorp is the contracting service they use. Unless you're flying rotorwing they usually go through Dyncorp for contract pilots.

I know Spur Aviation did some of the spotting/lead plane work in that area of the country. You might check with them.
