So, when are the results coming out for that? If Chautauqa gets a whole punch of Comair flights, are they going to start flying the CRJ possibly? And, what are the chances they open up a CVG base?

I wouldnt think that just because they get more flights that they would do a fleet change. I imagine the 145-135's will continue to be the aircraft. Dont look for Delta to take to much away from Comair though. Remember they still own them...its probably more of a ploy with contract stuff going on there

Not sure what is going with all of that. I have heard the CHQ is all geared up for a CRJ training program and accepting bids for CRJ captain... If they are getting CRJ they have to put them somewhere... |

I wonder why though they would want the extra cost of a new aircraft and training when they can obtain more 145's? CHQ doesnt need though to put to much into until the ink is dry. Delta is notorious for changing there minds at the last minute.....watch the FA talks and you will have better idea of whats going on. If they strike then CHQ will get the routes.

From what I understand, the CHQ CRJ's will be IAH based to replace some of Expressjet's planes w/ Continental. ERJ's aren't that easy to come by right now....most of Embraer's production right now is tied up on E170/190's and Legacies. Apparantly they will be digging CRJ's out of the desert....ask AWAC how well that worked out when they did the same thing for Airtran a few years back. |

Alchemy is correct. The CRJ-200's at CHQ are going to be used for the Continental flying and will be IAH based from what I understand.

Well, I though that Delta was going to take the CRJ's from Comair and change the name and put Chautauqua on it. Who is paying for the CRJ's they will get for Continental?

I don't know who is paying those leases, I'm sure it will be spelled in the CPA between republic and continental. Most likely CHQ will be paying the leases and then be reimbursed for the costs in some way by continental. I don't think they are getting their CRJ's from Comair.

Well I've been at two DC carriers now. Before I left Delta was at Mesa discussing future flying. The rumor was 70-86 seater flying. Mesa is moving more ERJ's from the UA side to Freedom. As far as Comair. The comany has come to agreements with the mx and fa's with the fa's voting on the agreement. If Delta does take away CRJ-200 a/c I see them going to ASA and Skywest, maybe Mesa, but that's a wild card. I agree with time Delta would shoot themselves in the ass if they took too much away from Comair. That's lost revenue for themselves. Time will tell, so we sit a wait.
