| Hey everyone, Just curious why everyone hates Gulfstream so much. I feel like I have read some negative comments on them. Is it their pay is to low? It seems like it would be some fun flying down in FL and the islands. Just curious. Thanks Todd |

| Assuming you're not trolling.. Gulfstream undercuts the very thing pilots try to achieve on a daily basis - professionalism, standards, and earning a living. When someone pays a company for 250 hours to ride along in their airplane and pretend they are a real FO for $30K, its an insult to any professional pilot on the basis that seat should be filled with a paid FO. When new pilots get airline eager and are killing to wear the uniform, make the announcements, and fly the planes they pay airlines to do such? Now, does that make any sense to you? Should I pay my employer for the right to wear their logo and attend their sales meetings? Pilots have a hard enough time already trying to maintain the battles with concessions and other cut backs so for someone to pay an airline to fly for them, its a step back for the pilots and a step forward for management. Besides, its generally not looked at with favorable eyes in an interview. That kind of experience needs to be built not bought.

| Old Skool | If the pay is in the negative (which after you factor in the money paid for the privilege of having the job, it is), it's not helping the industry......

| Hey everyone, I have been doing some searching and I see what you mean by "pay them" to fly for them. Why would anyone do that? And no worries, I am not trolling. I am new to the site but very eager to learn about the different regionals. I am considering a career change. I just was looking at Gulfstream's website and I would think their routes would be a lot more fun to fly on a daily basis rather than the North East or midwest. Just a thought though. Todd |

| You pay them to go through their first officer program which is 250 hours in their BE1900s. A load of horse dump is what it is.

Ask any questions you want! Just understand that it if is a topic that has been discussed be prepared to get the response "search function" ![]() Flying in the Northeast is a blast. A TON more challenging and fun than flying the Goofcrapstream routes. Don't even think about them. They don't deserve your time. | |

| Agent Smith | Howdy DMBinHburg. All you've got to do is scroll down to "Hot Topics" and there are several pre-existing threads. There is so much pre-existing information on how dumbass Gulfstream is that I'll give you a freebie by not seeing it. The scrollbar is your friend.
