Default Building a GPS

I was given an old Handspring Visor PDA and I want to try and build a (reference) aviation GPS system. I guess i just like the DIY stuff. Is it possible? There are GPS units for this PDA, so it may work out. Is there any way to get Jepp nav/terrain info into a unit that was not intended for such purposes?

Magellan used to make a plug in GPS module for the visor, and there were some freeware/shareware apps online that were for aviation (reference only).

You can get a Magellan GPS unit for the Visor for $30 plus $5 shipping on e-bay.

And then you can buy the non-brand name, who knows if it works, cheeper version for ~$10
