The Coast Guard Auxiliary

Hi everyone one I saw the movie the guardian last weekend and I guess I liked it a little to much, but I was just wondering if anyone here knew anything about flying with or just being in the coast guard auxiliary. Thanks a lot seems like it could be a fun way to help out.

The CG Aux is a great organization to be a part of. As far as flying for them goes, I'm not too sure about that. You have to own an airplane or be a part of a team that has an airplane. The CG Aux is not like the Civil Air Patrol, they don't have airplanes provided. In fact they don't have boats provided in most cases. Patrols are done by members that have their own boats.

Visit your local Coast Guard station or check out the CG Aux. on the web. It could be a lot of fun, but don't expect to fly anything.
