| Old Skool | I thought he took it off his website because he didn't want it floating around the internet so much... I guess it's OK, if they are using it at the Interview now. Anyway... True story. I would watch this video any time I felt close to getting burned out instructing. I would also show it to my students right before a checkride to pump them up! Great job... and thanks again Chris! | Senior Member | Yeah, but we spoke about this video two weeks ago and there has been someone who has turned it in to the FAA. I have emailed the guy who has it up to take it down. Most likely nothing will come of it but it has landed on the desk of the operations people at SKYW. It should be taken down!

| It's an extremely well-done video, and it made me really want to work for SkyWest when it was posted a while ago. There's things in it that people with no life in the FAA could probably get really nitpicky about in it, which is unfortunate, but I'd guess that's why its creator wants it down. |

| Again, WHAT on the video would the FAA give a rip about?

| Old Skool | I'd be a violation of the sterile cockpit concept. Of which, I do not agree with. . . especially if it is coming from a crewmember. |

| Agent Smith | Probably a violation of the sterile cockpit rules I presume. The FAA is very weird when it comes to commercial operations. There are things that you can get away with as a private pilot that they'd snap up your ticket for if you're flying in commercial operations. Case in point: English. The rule is 'read, speak and understand' English. But if your foreign/ESL commercial student doesn't have the ability to understand and follow a non-standard English command from ATC the first time, he doesn't have "ATP/Commercial Quality English" and by signing his 8710 form you can be held in violation and have your certificate suspended. It's not written anywhere, but when you're sitting in front of four inspectors in a conference room at the FAA HQ in Oklahoma City state this and threaten to do so, it's a little hard to build a case. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. If you're going to do something similar, be VERY CAREFUL. The ACI for your 121/135 operator might be on a fishing expedition.

| If the person in the video is a JC member, it would be best to delete this thread. Will somebody that knows, for sure, please say so or PM me? |

| Sorry about my last post, Doug. I didn't realize what was going on here. At least it's a testament to his video skills that I didn't forget him! |
