Well a few months ago I posted some pics and a story of a Cherokee landing on the residential street just behind my office, today I don't have any pics yet, but I do have another story. Apparently a Bonanza landed on the Interstate earlier today due to unknown problems. The hilarious part is that one of my buddies was flying back from Ozona when this was going on and heard the whole exchange between Approach and the Bonanza. They were talking the whole time and after they landed on the interstate they said, "I think we have enough speed to make the exit." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111lololololol. Maybe I'm just crazy but that just seems hilarious to me. Everybody's fine and right now I hear they're towing it behind a pick up down Loop 250 with a police escort. I think a pic of the plane making the exit would go nicely of my other pic of the Cherokee right next to a street sign.

That is funny. Glad they're ok.

Reminds me of the beginning of the jet age - the days of the water wagons and when the main runway at Newark was a bit shorter than it is today and literally ended at the perimeter fence. One of my friends' father was a pilot for American Airlines and he once remarked that he never worried about taking off from KEWR because if he didn't make it he could always hang a hard right at the end of the runway and grab the Jersey Turnpike southbound. Of course, he added, they'd have ot install a ticket booth there so he could grab one as he went by.
