I hear ya! Yesterday was a first for me. CLE Center wanted Max Forward Speed. Check on with approach and guess what we got. First time ever I've had to slow from 310 to 170, then they're yelling at me to get down. I already had the boards out and I was waiting for that pesky 250 below 10 rule.

We won't always have the "twenty" any more. Grrr.
I just listen for the numbers any more. If I hear (like you said) Jetlink, JetBlue, or Jazz and our flight number I'll question them before I ack. I was laughing when I heard the lady on ground in CLT call Jetlink "Bluestreak."

That new flight numbering I believe is meant so we and ATC don't get confused when there are similar Bluestreaks on freq. How that's going to work, I'm not really sure. 2209 and 2208 will now be 209 and 208 so on and so forth.

How is differentiating between 2209 and 2208 any different then between 209 and 208?
