| I learned from the media today that had the Cirrus been on a "flight plan", the accident could've been prevented. Next time I fly I will make sure that flight plan helps control my aircraft to where it should go.

| Senior Member | Well that is great. That means that after I open my flight plan in the Warrior I can just sit back and let it take me to wherever I want to go. Almost as smart as people setting cruise controls in their RVs and going and making some food thinking the RV will stay on the road because it knows where to go. |

One thing that definately would've prevented it though is if then didn't try and make that crazy 180. That's a tight fit. That cutout exists in the most part for the helicopters, not fixed wing. It never occured to me to even attempt it. LGA is just a radio call away.
