Default Tyler Stanger

Please pray for Tyler Stanger, his wife and young kid....

Today I got a call from my brother, a flight student, a friend, and the NY Times.... all w/bad news

2004- Tyler Stanger gave me my first pilot job... I flew his airplane with a bunch of students...

2006- Tyler crashes with Yankee pitcher, Cory Lidle, and die in the New York airplane crash...

I knew him well... went flying with him from time to time... went water skiing with him... bbq's in the summer.... i talked to him 2 months ago.... he will be missed...

I'm not a religious person, but if YOU are.... please pray for him and his fam.

*I know its a couple of months since I've posted here

EDIT- Sorry for posting it in the General section

Glad to see that you're ok, see the other thread because we were all wondering if it was you as the instructor in the plane

Yeah, I just noticed that like 2 minutes ago... if you image-google my name in quotes, you'll find a picture from stangair.com and from jetcareers.com

Its a real shame. Im really curious as to the cause. No need for speculation, but I just think something like what happened would seem like a very rare situation for a CFII to get in. Ya never know I guess...

So he does have a name. From watching the news, I was beginning to wonder if his headstone was going to read, "A Flight Instructor."

RIP.

I know... I thought it was actually quite rude of the media to talk about Lidle so much and yet the other "person" was just a flight instructor...

I'm sorry to hear about your friend GDP...we all hope to never have to hear news like that!!

but it is nice to finally know the name of "the other guy". I feel for his family & friends.

I think it was pretty foul how there was so little talk about the "other guy" besides the baseball player.

If it wasn't Cory Lidle's airplane, it would have been just another story. Because it's a famous person, it's all over the news.

Hell, man, can you name more than a handful of the folks who were murdered on September 11?

Neither can I.

Paris Hilton takes a dump in the men's room, and it's all over the headlines. Some 16 year old kid gets murdered in a gangland killing, and it's a paragraph on page 16 of the metro section.

It's not right, but that's the way it is.

I'll kind of buy that..... I think it was more of it being NYC and not so much a famous person. I don't think being Cory Lidle had much to do with it. It could have been me or you and the reaction would still have been the same in NYC.

I would also think that if it was another city in some other part of the country it would not have been as bad either. I can understand how some in NYC may be somewhat worried considering what happened.

I was reading a ESPN article about the accident and saw this:

Quote:
Stanger's survivors include his pregnant wife, Stephanie, and an infant daughter. A service for Stanger is set for Saturday.
An infant daughter and another baby on the way. That is so sad.

GDP, my thoughts go out to you and all his other friends and family.
