Default gyrocopter crash at 28A!

A navy pilot just bought a gyrocopter today at 28A in Charlotte and crashed on the other side of the runway. The guy had less than 10 hours of gyro time but 2000 time in the navy 800 civilian fixed wing. The guy selling it wanted to go around a few more times to let him get used to it but the guy wanted to get going. He took off 22 and got caught in the crosswind, ended up crashing with full power behind the barn off the runway. The gyros trashed but the guy walked away. Called 911 and about 35 cars, trucks, and two helicopters showed up within minutes.

I was doing a preflight with a students on his first flight when it happend.
