Default traveling benefits for pilots

What kind of benefits do pilot's receive in terms of traveling. Do pilot's get to fly places for free? Can the bring people with them?

Default Re: traveling benefits for pilots

It depends/varies with the company and what agreements they may have with other carriers. For my company, SkyWest, there are some other travel discounts but the basic jist is as follows. (In all cases you are traveling standby, meaning there has to be an unsold seat available or "NO FLIGHT FOR YOU!) Employees, significant others, children and parents can fly for free on any company flight. Myself and my family can fly free on Delta in the US. Parents pay a small surcharge. On United all of us pay a surcharge. (Based on the flight's miles.)

Non rev travel can work well, but other times, like during busy travel seasons, you are better off paying for a ticket or just driving.
