They "the media" is saying the pilot had reported fuel problems moments before the crash and was trying to get to LGA. Im sure that will change in about 10 minutes.

The FBI says there is no indication that the crash is terrorism-related.

A White House spokesman said they were not ruling out any theory.

who knew that the Yankees were a terrorist organization!?!

Check out: http://www4.passur.com/lga.html

Set it to 14:30 or so on the 10 mile scale. At about 14:31 you see N929CD east of TEB near where the map says Ridgefield. Over the Hudson the aircraft label switches to just GA and it goes down the Hudson, near the Statue of Liberty and up the East River. At about 14:41 the aircraft passes the 59th Street bridge and makes a left and disappears.

Well, they must be a nation-wide group: '"Fighters are airborne over numerous U.S. cities and while every indication is that this is an accident we see this as a prudent measure at this time," said Sgt. Claudette Hutchinson, a spokeswoman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command in Colorado Springs, Colo.'

Just saw Bloomberg's press conference... I think he did a very good job of not playing into the reporters hands when they kept asking questions like "What does this mean for security???" and reiterating the point that this was simply a small a/c accident, nothing more. I couldn't believe some of the BS questions.

I agree. I thought Mayor Bloomberg did a good job at the press conference. Apparently, he is a pilot himself so at least he could bring some sanity to the discussion.

People were asking the stupidest questions. If you were watching CNN, you might have noticed some people suggesting that there be regulations not allowing GA aircraft flying around major cities in the US. It's just WOW....

Here's a conspiracy theory for you... (found on another site)

Quote:
Cory Lidle, New York Yankees pitcher.

CNN is reporting "His passport was found on the street below"

WTH? Bull****. This wasnt a flight to Canada, or any other nation. Why would he have his passport? Remember one of the supposed 9/11 hijacker's passports was found unscathed on the street below[somehow miraculously right after the impact] when nothing else at all from either plane in New York was found unscathed.

also,
9/11/01
is
10/11/6
upside down and reverse; or simply spun 180 degrees.

Also, this happened at 524 East 72 street

5+2+4 = 11

7+2 = 9

Thats all I have so far.

If you havent been following the little game, heres but a few of the MANY other interesting things:
7/11 Mumbai train bombings
3/11 Madrid bombings
7/7 London attacks
9/11 US attacks
Flight 11, first attack aircraft
Flight 77 Pentagon
9/11 was 11 years to the day of Bush I's New World Order, "thousand points of light", "Illumination" speech
- transcript of the Sep 11, 1990 speech:

very strange conspiracy theory...

I couldnt stand hearing the media try to "explain" what vfr meant and its restrictions. Especially when I turned to one channel and one "expert" says how vfr aircraft dont have to talk to atc no matter where they are, then the next channel has somebody talking about the safety of general aviation aircraft. (by then, im like omg). Then somebody showed the New York sectional chart to the camera and said theres no place for a general aviation aircraft to fly around the city without talking to atc. But then on the national news, the person mentioned the Hudson River corridor (way to go ;p)

I should just throw out my tv

and just to add something...Bloomberg said tomorrow he will talk to the faa about adding restrictions to low time pilots flying around large cities. By then, I shut off the tv and took a walk.

To anyone who thinks that light airplanes should be forbidden from major cities because they are a security threat, I say that light cars should be forbidden from major cities, as cars could be used in a terrorist attack. Plus, it would also:

reduce smog and air pollution
reduce the price of gas due to lower demand
cut down on the obesity epidemic since people might actually have to walk or ride a bike
eliminate the threat of traffic accidents

Ok, here's an idea for a new regulation. Maybe the AOPA could push this through:

All famous persons MUST complete instrument training before they can get their PPL. In other words, famous student pilots can't get a PPL without the /IA.

Any thoughts?

That's it! Close 90% of all flight schools in the USA and stop those RICH pilot golfers that have nothing else better to do but fly their expensive Cessnas for fun!

Never let it be said the FAA doesn't have a penchant for understatement:
