Default Where are my ASA people on here?

I'm very interested in what's going on with your company over in ATL. The strike vote passed with like 93% a few months back but so far nothing has signifigantly occured. Are the pilots back in talks with the NMB or are things just stalled right now?

Is the company still stalling? Have they offered any new contracts since the vote or is management still having double speak meetings in the crew rooms? Is SKYW still stealing your planes? Is ASA really shrinking? What are the major issues/language that the pilots want in the contract that they're not getting besides the obvious being pay.

I occassionally read flightinfo and it's so hard to sort through the info there and know whats real and whats not with all the posers, management plants, haters and trolls. Care to let someone on the outside with a general interest in ASA know whats goin on. Thanks.

As I am sure you already know, the SLC based was closed. Shortly thereafter some displacements were announced. No official negotiating for months. Proffer for arbitration was submitted by the union last month. There seems to be some attrition over to Skywest by FO's and left seat guys are still going off to greener pastures. I wouldn't consider Skywest "stealing" our aircraft. But with that said, there seems to be asset transfer from ASA to Skywest. As a subsidiary of Skywest inc., it is apparently perfectly acceptable fo them to place aircraft where and with whom they like. There is also a bit of contention about where and to which airline the CRJ 900's were to go to, but now it seems clear that they will have Skywest painted on the side.

As far as the issues the pilots want in the contract, we could go on forever. Quite a bit of it has to do with scheduling and language changes in the old contract to set firm the true intention of the contracts’ guidance. Of course compensation is a hot topic as is PBS, retro pay and things like commuter clauses, scope language etc., etc.

I haven’t seen a management person in the crew lounge in months, except for a visit during recurrent ground. The moral of the crew is quite low, as you would expect, but that doesn’t equate to any sort of tendency to concede or give up in any way. We are committed to doing our job, standing firm, and to get a contract that improves our QOL, removes ambiguity in language, enhances our job performance and makes the airline as efficient and safe as possible while still maintaining a profitable business. There are two sides to every coin and it is hard to wade through management and the Unions version of what exactly is an acceptable amendment to our old contract, but hopefully this will all get resolved soon, so we can focus on our job without this incessant distraction.

Currently no classes and no plans for any. I am not sure if they are still interviewing, but I doubt it.

Truly sad stuff. Kinda tired of west coast life. Going to a school in Florida so ASA has always been a top contender in my opinion. Maybe things will change for the better who knows. If not there are two regionals I'd seriously look at based in KCLT!

You guys and gals are in my hearts and prayers!

Many ASA pilots are interviewing at SKW. 7 are in my class. The ones that are here either 1) have been at ASA less than 3 years or 2) live in SLC.

SKYW is a good regional but when time comes for me to appy for stuff not sure I want any of their current bases more especially SLC...I'd go effin crazy. Kinda tired of the left coast want to try something new.Really looking forward to the south with all the green, seasons, rain etc. It'd be a real nice place if the people didn't live there!

LoL - I'm the opposite. The only things I miss from living in ATL are 1) my friends, 2) home games and 3) hand-pulled pork.
