| Re: Why should we pick you? Well, it really depends on... you.
What do you bring to the company?
What experience do you have thats beneficial?
Why do you want to work for the company?
Why are you a good fit with the company?
You can approach this question from many angles. I try to focus on the company a little more than I focus on myself - don't want to come across as someone with a big ego. (They can find that out later) |

| Re: Why should we pick you? questions like this really belong in general topics so you can receive more responses... if you didn't read the sticky at the top, the interview forum is for those those want to "report" on an interview they've been too.. not to ask questions before hand... general topics will be best for those "before interview" questions
just an FYI |

| Re: Why should we pick you? I can't remember what I answered, although I'm sure it was brilliant.
The keys are that
a) somebody elses answer probably won't work for you. For example, "I live at the airport, I'm not married and I want to work 7 days a week" won't be the ideal answer if you live 30 minutes from the airport, are married with 7 kids and are looking for part time work.
b) If *YOU* don't know why they should hire you then the company you want to work for will never figure it out.
These kinds of touchy feely questions are best answered by you, not by anybody on a message board. By all means think about them in advance, but it has to be your answer.
Interview questions like "when can you leave MDA" can be hashed over all you want, but questions intended to address YOUR specific features have to be answered truthfully by you. |

| Re: Why should we pick you? There's nothing to hash out with when you can leave an MDA, it's spelled out in the FAR's. Quote the FAR and you've probably answered the question, anything else and you screwed it up. |

| Re: Why should we pick you? I hate to say this but if you are asking this question on a forum you had better figure out what to say. This question is designed to get away from the "canned" response and find out something about the person.
Answer the question in a way that talks about YOU. You've got to sell yourself, no one else is going to do it. |

| Re: Why should we pick you? Although I agree that canned answers are not a good idea, I also would like to hear some (serious) examples of how one would answer this question. I certainly would not want to copy the answer, but a basic format of what an employer looks for would be helpfull. Honestly if I had to answer that question right now I woulnd't know exactly what to say. For example, if I say "because I'd be an asset to the company" I'd think that would be too vague. If I say "because I'm the best pilot in the sky" I'd think that would be too arogant. But what else is there? Honestly, what does any one person have to offer? What qualities would make one candidate stand out more than another?
