Default Medical Flight Exam for the SODA... here goes nothing!

Well folks, not sure how many of you remember me posting about having to take a medical flight exam with a FSDO examiner, but here it goes.

It's on for October 18th, and on the suggestion of the FSDO examiner, I made a backup reservation for the 19th (weather backup).

This will be a First class medical flight exam, in order to get a SODA for the eye imbalance condition thing I have.

Hopefully, it will be a non-event. I can fly just fine, just need to show/prove it to the examiner.

The FSDO examiner already has my "corrected" medical, and the SODA, with him... since the FAA mailed it to the local FSDO.

If I pass, I can get these from him, and be on my merry way !!!!

I've gotten my fingers crossed, and hoping that I will pass this. I must if I am to pursue aviation further.

As far as I know, regional (and major) airlines do hire pilots with a SODA. Hopefully, it won't be a problem with me.

I'll definetly post after October 18 and let everyone know the end result.

Wish me luck!

Btw,

I already do hold a 1st class medical... but it has a restriction on it:

"Valid for Student Pilot Purposes Only"

That is the FAA's way of saying, "No logging or acting as PIC for you!"

This is the restriction that needs to come off, and will come off, once I pass the medical flight exam.

That's what I meant when I said the FSDO examiner already has my "corrected" 1st class medical with him.

"corrected" in the sense that restriction is removed.
