Question An a-typical time logging question.

It's only two hours, but....

I went to a Riddle summer camp through my HS before getting my license senior year. Part of it was some time in an old 172 with a CFI. Me and my friend Mike switched turns in the driver's seat. We flew all around Arizona (Payson, Flagstaff, I puked in the backseat so we landed in unfriendly Cottonwood, AZ). Anyways, I think I got about 2.0 out of it, but since I never got the instructor to sign my cheap little 5-page cessna logbook, I've never been able to add it to my time. Today I came across a "first flight certificate" in my file box that has the CFI's signature, number and exp. date.

Whawhat..what would you do?

Option A) Ask Mike if he logged it to double check the times, make a retrospective entry in my logbook, and keep the "certificate" in there for proof.

Option B) Use the number to look up the guys info in the airman directory and try to get him to sign something in my logbook.

Option C) S.O.L. (Slushie's Outta Luck)

Option C.

Don't even bother. I know it seems like a waste when you're trying to build time, but 2.0 is a drop in the proverbial bucket in the grand scheme of things. It's not worth the trouble.

My $.02.

A book I'm reading quoted someone as answereing the question "How rich is too rich?" with "When you're too rich to pick up a penny"

Your two cents, my $300.

Option D) Write it in your logbook with a simple explanation and move on.

If you actually did some learning about flying and manipulating a plane, take credit for the hours and don't look back. Anybody that busts your chops about 2 hours of legitimate (but hazily documented) time isn't worth working for anyway. It would be a problem if there is a pattern of "fuzzy" time in your book, but I can't see you having that tendency if you are asking this question in the first place.

Take it and run.

Cool. :P
I am committed to integrity in such a way that I am going to run this over with Mike to make sure my memory doesn't suck and it wasn't just 1 hour that I was up front.

Ask yourself this: is lugging around this certificate along with your logbook worth 2.0 (in fact you are just guessing with the 2.0)?

My personal opinion is no. But that's just me .

I'd just cut/fold it down to size and tape it inside the back cover.
