Default Crazy Saturday.

:::Jesus-y content. It's in everything I do, so just close this thread if that bothers you....dork:::

Just did an airshow at Tahoe and so much stuff went down that I have to tell you all.
We pray consistently before we start any engine. For safety, for hearts to be blessed, for souls to be reached, for that $120 of avgas to mean more than just hours in Slushie's logbook. Got to the airshow everyone waved as we taxied in...one of the coordinator guys asks me "so are you bringing all 5 planes this year?" ...they remembered us..."nope just two."

The "Tumbling Bear"..i think thats who it is...supposedly an atheist was flying his aerbatic show. btw his tail .. is N666OK. it's funny...really. :P
We make a point to pray for him all the time. Cuz he's an awesome flyer.

Talked to a bunch of kids. let them "fly the plane"

Bikers For Christ guy greets us.

We were going to leave right when the show was done but "nah lets just hang out a while longer"

This guy comes up seemingly scared but progressively intending to engage in conversation. John talks with him like crazy about getting into the Bible for real. "Prayer, The Word, and Fellowship" Guy digs it for sure, certainly moved by the conversation. We pray for him and leave.

we pass by Death Valley and all that stuff...past Beatty VOR. Following the highway so we stay out of resricted airspace. It's night ...dark... my electrical acts funny. everything dimming, extreme discharge radios not working...FUEL GUAGES showing zero (they're electrical of course, but still not helping). going thru everything my "copilot" gets the batteries out of the GPS and into the handheld COM. I tell Little One what's going on and he reminds me to cycle the master...magic.

get home land and go to the corner store at VGT.

two guys are in there cussing up a storm at the cashier and I'm almost certain there's gunna be a firefight. (this IS VegasGhettoTerminal). I don;t care I need to pee. "Hey can I have the key to the restroom?" (screaming continues). Praying while peeing that everyone comes out of it safe... I get done and they're gone...it was all over a case of beer they had stolen..lame.

all in all..a fun way to spend a saturday.

Sounds like a pretty fun weekend.

What was your plan of action if you lost your alternator?

One thing that I have learned in my many years on this earth is that it is wise to avoid being judgemental based on a single aspect of a person such as religiosity, wealth, physical attributes, or skin color.

I didn't say I thought that anyone was being judgemental, did I? It just felt like an appropriate time to put that thought out there. I like sowing seeds (ideas) sometimes, not necessarily knowing where they will sprout in the future. Maybe I thought there was some potential here to put an idea out for general consumption. Anyone, including you, that feels it holds meaning for them is free to think so. Or not.

Follow the number one plane in (with him notifying ATC). You're not supposed to fly formation at night, but I was well behind and kept him in sight.

Only because I would have had no lights/txpnder, I had the handheld ready to go.

SOOOO glad I bought the handheld from the JC Trading Post!
