I've got about three weeks off and the wife and I are going to head out on a trip somewhere (non-rev). Looking to go this Wed-Sat/Sun and the only real paramaters are to just stay away from hurricanes (i.e. no South FLA, Key West, etc.). I know there are quite a few people out there that non-rev all over. Loads look good overall. Any ideas? Anyone have any hotel/resort tips with a good interline discount? |

I was just in Vancouver and it was great. I don't know much about the discounts though.

I've looked into LAS too--that would be fun. Flights to/from LAS are typically pretty full though! Vancouver---I'll look into that, supposed to be beautiful there! Thanks guys.

log onto the hub, pick some cool destinations based off of usair's route map, and plug them in to see what the loads look like. I choose destinations based on load factor ![]() The US Virgin Islands are good, because you don't have to pay taxes there. It would probably be your 'cheapest' exoctic location. Keep in mind the taxes to europe and back are pretty expensive, especially for first year F/O's .Alternatively, you could walk down the A terminal in PHL and pick and choose your international destination. But then you gotta go to Philly. I hate Philly. I sat on my butt for 8 hrs today when flight after flight got cx...ughhhhh.

| I think he's talking about it being rainy and cloudy for the past few weeks. Every time my folks have called lately they mention how crappy the wx has been.

| Old Skool | Zihuatanejo ![]() Just got back from a nice overnight there... Beautiful beach... the water was perfect and the hotel was "all- inclusive". Free drinks, Free Dinner, Free Breakfast, etc... It was a far cry from the LaQuinta I stayed at last week in Harlingen, Texas! ![]() Lot's of hotels down there give Crew Rates as did ours... under $150 a night PER ROOM... not per person, for all-inclusinve. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ic/1/en/hotel/zihha You may not think you've ever heard of Zihuatanejo, but, if you've ever seen Shawshank Redemption... Zihuatenejo is the place that Morgan Freeman went to in the end. Bob 1. Poolside 2. View from my oceanfront room in the morning. 3. Captain and FA at breakfast oceanside. 4. Me... with a palm tree sticking out of my head! ![]() 5. Departure view...

In my VERY short time non-reving around the USAirways System make sure you... A) Avoid PHL B) Make sure you purchase the upgrade certs ahead of time. You don't want them to say, coach is full, can I have an upgrade cert, and you don't have any. C) Avoid PHL D) If you go to Europe DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT let them eticket your taxes. Have them give you a paper ticket showing you paid your taxes. Also make sure you do that in the states and once again get the transatlantic upgrades. Stockhold was 39.50 in taxes. ANY ID90s take care of in the states as well. Even though they can and are helpful the overseas agents for Airways might not be 100% sure how to do that stuff and it can take an hour or two for them to figure it out! E) Ask for the USAirways rate at the hotel. Our hotel in Stocholm was $130.00 with it! Not to bad! F) Avoid PHL! |
