I might be weird but I throughly enjoy watching the flaps and slats extend and retract in all phases of flight. Also landing is by far better then taking off anyday in any type of plane! |

I love how mentally intense flying can be. That's not to say I like being stressed...just that I love how it can completely take over my mind while I'm doing it. Shooting an ILS to minimums in actual, arriving into a Class B airport, teaching a pre-solo student how to land, etc...for those few minutes I'm not thinking about anything except the task at hand. Everything else in life naturally gets blocked out. It's peaceful, in a weird way.

Um, well. . . I really don't know. Like many of us, aviation has just been part of my life for so long that I really didn't fall in "love" or "love" anything specific about aviation, it's just my life. My fondest memories were visitng the Delta TOC as a kid, walking through 76's, L10s, and MD11s that were in the hangers getting worked on was a riot. The Delta TOC still puts a smile on my face, and I'm 22 years old. When it comes to actually flying, with 9.6 hrs and a solo endorsement (tehehe. . . I scare myself). . . the thing I like most is the simple fact that I actually have the skills needed to takeoff, fly, and land a 172. ![]() Have a long way to go. |

I like the taste of 100LL. J/KOf course, the views here in SoCal can be remarkable. And this may sound weird, but flying is the only activity that for me can be both relaxing and challenging at the same time. Probably b/c it's so much fun.
