What's the difference? For a student pilot, flying a 1970 C172K, is $1000 worth of ADL okay? $5000? $10000? Thanks |

| Its sort of the same difference as the property damage and collision coverages in your auto policy. You crash into a car or building or other aircraft or whatever. Property damage covers your liability for the damage that you caused to the car or building or other aircraft or whatever you crashed into, but =not= to the aircraft you were operating. Aircraft damage liability ("hull" damage) covers the damage to the aircraft you were operating. |

Okay, so ADL is the Hull damage insurance I have read elsewhere, hence it's optional'ness. https://www.avemco.com/insuranceprod...#AviatorRates1 I'm going to call up AVEMCO tomorrow and order their Aviator Gold package w/ 50k of bodily injury, 500K of property damage, w/ 10k of ADL. Annual premium is $285. | |
