Default How to become FAA-designated pilot examiner??

I was wondering what are the requirements for A pilot to become an examiner... How many hours does he needs.. what ratings does he needs.. Are there any benefits besides Getting paid 200+ bucks for the Exam... lol.. Just wondering..

Try $400 in the Valley here man...

Get to know another DPE really well that can drop your name and navigate you through the FSDO office you wish to work under/out of....

Had a DPE tell me that is the real key.

Plus if you are an FAA DE you earn diplomatic immunity - so you're immune to the rules and reg's of the FAR's. No need to worry about MDA's and breakin' airspace!
