| Old Skool | Youtube rocks. I liked the video just wish that it was longer so we could see if the RJ reattempted landing and if they were sucessful. However. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhTeasD07KM&NR Video's like this on youtube though exciting to watch kinda piss me off. As the FA's clearly say turn off all electrical equipment but the people filming selfishly choose to ignore the order possibly putting the entire plane at risk if there is some sort of conflict with with the planes systems. |

I think we have proof now that having electronics on during takeoff and landing doesn't crash the plane.

| Old Skool | Well obviously. But still obey your FA's if they say no electronics on till one-zero-thousand comply! I have no desire to be an FA but I have mad respect for them and all the crap they deal with daily! |

| Wow, excellent job on maintaining centerline and then still making the decision to get out of dodge, nicely done.

| Old Skool | I like the "Landing at VPS" video too. That's a long taxi from 19 to the terminal! (At the end of 30) Those runways are something like 12,000' long.

| Old Skool | Looks like he was high and hot, putting him waaaay out side the touchdown zone. Good decision to go around! Dern gusty crosswinds were the bane of my existence when I was sub-200 hours in the jet. |

Hell, now that I think about it, I used to take pictures of the view out the window whenever flying commercial, and I probably will keep on doing that. Of course, that may change if flying ever actually becomes my real job. -C.

| Perhaps, but I wouldn't want to explain to the FAA that I thought the manufacturer was full of sh&t and I landed and subsequently scraped a wing anyway. ![]() |

| Agent Smith | The max crosswind limit is 30 knots in a emdyeighty. I betcha if you had a fed on the jumpseat, he heard the latest wind report and it showed a crosswind in excess of 30 knots, he'd probably text his supervisor: "Jethro! I done got me one!"

| Oh yes, pacific time! I had tunnel vision last night when the clock was showing 2:30am ET. Now that I am rested and full from a decent Hampton Inn continental breakfast maybe I can think straight again ![]() |
