Default Sporty's or King Schools?

Im planning on taking a two week instrument course in July and need to get the written as well as some basic ground school done. Should I buy the Sporty's or the King's kit?

Okay, I really haven't used either one, so don't take what I say too seriously, but...isn't it a little weird how in the King brochures and ads, they use the same picture of the guy pointing and smiling, but use photoshop to change the color of his shirts?

He's got the exact same pose, hand position, phony smile, and if you are bored and start looking hard you can tell they've chopped the photo.

Maybe it means nothing, but it just seems cheezy to me. But like I said, I haven't used it, and it could still be great, even if it is cheezy.

HEB, Albertsons, or Wal Mart?

I don't know which one is a fortune 100 company. But maybe you shouldn't say, I can't imagine them being happy with you lurking around JC while on the clock.lol

Actually, in two more days we will own Albertson's......sssshh.....

You have to love automation. Everything runs so smooth that I have time to check out the net here and there. If something happens, various alarms will alert the operators.

Kind of like sitting in cruise flight with the A/P on....

Myself personally never bought the kits..always used the Red Gleim books for the writtens, and the FAA books, with others thrown in to help, for the knowledge.

I'm up cuz I'm waiting for you to respond to my PM.

Really though, I can't tell ya. Been up all day, studying, loungin', flew a bit and got my ass knowcked all over the place, and just not tired for some reason. Sucks cuz I have to be up for work in the morning still though.

Yeah, I was waiting until I had some time to respond to the PM. As far as the rest, it'll be great...while you're having trouble getting up for work, I'll be starting my last leg of the night. When you are at work, I'll be getting back to the hotel, for some R&R time at the pool, hopefully with a beer in hand, and then sleep all day!!!

I've tried both. Both will serve up the info you need to pass the tests, but the King's DVD's bored me to tears. The King's schools course does seem to be better integrated with the exam questions than the Sporty's but I just couldn't stay awake through an entire disk. However, I did like the King's 2 DVD PPL checkride course. Very informative.

I use King's stuff. It is more directed toward passing the written. I use it in conjuction with the Gleim disk. Go through the King Course and answer all the questions on the Gleim disk and print off my release to take the written from the Gleim.

I did the Kings's PPL course and hated it! I got some free 3hr DVD from Sporty's about your first few hours and it was boring as hell, so its pretty much pick your poison!

Neither...why waste your money ($300 or so?) to have information spoonfed to you?

Ill admit it, i tried the King CD rom course for the IRA written....it was boring as hell. Its just as easy (and boring i guess) to just use the gliem books. Theyre waaaay cheaper

Depends on the person, I looked at Sporty's and they seemed horribly boring. I havn't tried King's, but I did try the Cessna Pilot Center version which has the john and martha in about 70% of the video. The jokes are lame (especially from Rick Rockwell the guy from Fox's "Who Wants To Marry a Millionaire"), but the info is good, and it is for a change once in a while. Plus, you can see Martha in action! http://putfile.com/marthaL

Edit: Dang it, the clip I pasted the link for didn't work. I'll leave it up in case I can fix it. It was a clip of Martha in the cockpit with someone other then her husband, and she was saying "Now, let's spice things up"
