if we would take the tax dollars that cops use to bust underage drinkers and put it towards the search for osama, we would have caught him 3 times by now.

It's not 21, it's more like 24-25.

I'm almost 24 and I can't drink like I could when I was 21. I'm a serious lightweight and I'll get a decent hangover after 4 beers.

Vegas was killer on me.

If you had got behind the wheel of a car this would be a different story morally. Just get the technical legal help and be more careful.
Not to jump into this argument or anything but the law is the law. Italian-American families drinking wine with dinner is breaking the law. The problem is not the parents getting into trouble per say but little Jimmy who is only 19 who drinks at dinner with family and gets busted still pays the consequences.

Polygamist families are raised to be in plural marriage. Its their way of life. Breaking the law? Absolutely.

The law is the law my friend.

The drinking age should most definately be 18. From what I've seen 80% of people under 21 consume alcohol anyway. That 80% is people who have more than just a sip atleast twice a month.

There's nothing better then studying and practicing hard all week, winning a big game, and then celebrating by pounding beers with your team.

Over in Germany, if i'm correct, the legal drinking age is 16 whereas Switzerland is 14....

Personally, I think if you teach your kids about drinking when they're really quite young, it helps them learn more about moderation and less about overindulgence because at such a young age, there's just no need to overindulge like there is when a US kid is in college and under the age of 21! that's what makes college so fun, yet so stupid....

more and more I see how the US (govt, parents, society in general) prohibits learning moderation, responsibility and accountability because it's not a "given" learning experience until it's really too late to learn.

Never ever blow into any of those damn machines. Never take a blood test. Never EVER admit you were drinking either. In cali, it's illegal for anyone under 21 to have a BAC of 0.01.

My EX-COP teacher was telling me to never admit to drinking, even if you were while driving. He said all that'll happen, they arrest, you spend a night in jail, and they suspend your license for 6 months. No DUI or anything, just get license suspended for 6 months and a night in jail. Nothing on record.

How about that!? Can refuse the BAC tests!

So what about native americans? They take peyote (sp) which is either opium, heroin or cocaine. Native americans uses this (legally) in religious ceremonies to induce a drug like state to commune with their Gods!

Meritflyer you are right, the law is the law. Doesn't make the law moral, sensical, or ethical, and most Americans have enough common sense that they don't need to live there lives referring to 'the law.' You wouldn't crash an airplane because you weren't certain if you would be breaking FARs by taking evasive action, would you? Of course not, that is common sense. Oh wait, we have a law for that...the PIC can deviate from any reg to meet an emergency. Hopefully you have enought time to refer to that law in the mayhem.
And I hope you never drive 1 m.p.h. over the speed limit....its the law.

If you decline a breathalyzer while you are pulled over on suspicion of drunk driving, the automatic license suspension does go on your record. Additionally, in some places they can add an obstruction of justice charge. Not to mention that most states have the authority to forcibly blood test you for alcohol, which would just add another charge, and ultimately end up with one having more to explain in an interview.

True.

And if you're a professional pilot and if you refuse a breathalizer, the FAA'll suspend your ass.

The reason why i didn't refuse the breathlizer is because my FAA Cert. will get suspended automatically for suspicion...

BTW just for a heads up im already in talks with an attorney here from chicago who is gonna refer me to someone from indiana. Im definetly gonna bring an attorney with me. I dont want this mistake to haunt me for the rest of my life.

.007? Are you sure it wasn't .07? You should have told him you just had some scope.

In most states, I know NH and GA being one of them, if you blow less than a .01 you are free to go.

If that is the case, this is why you get lawyers and pay them money. It seems like this BAC level could be caused by anything, and are the machines really sensitive enough to determine this level of precision?

True dat, it really could have been scope. And even if you told the cop you were drinking, you had just woken up! You could have been groggy and not really knowing what you're saying. I know I sleep walk sometimes and I've done some crazy stuff that people had to tell me about the next day (seriously).

Funny no one else seems to have a problem with it. Just trying to answer the question. Now stop trying to start fights all the time by fishing for them.
