Looks like a typical spring day in Kansas.

Can someone explain to me the reason for abbreviating weather information. I understand back in the days of teletype they had to save space that way but now you can get a satellite picture or even a video of the weather but we still have to decipher all that. There will probably be an accident where this was a factor and then they will change. Or maybe someone who knows more about it could explain.

I blame the French, but I'm just bitter that way....

Why fix what isn't broken. Most people don't have a problem reading aviation weather. My flight release is already 50+ pages. I don't need it any longer.

If you really want, duats.com can give a decoded briefing.

Doesn't it make you feel just a little bit special to be able to read it?
