Default Re: Anyone hear about a DAL engine failure on takeoff in ORD?

That's kinda cool y'all get the day to unwind after that happened. I was riding in one of our Lears going home, lost an engine in cruise, the crew did an awesome job (the Captain is #1 seniority-wise here, with around 25000 hours, and it was his first engine failure, the FO had just upgraded, first week in the Lear). We diverted to CLT, picked up another plane and kept going, since they were almost out of duty time. Total time on the ground, including phone calls, etc. was under 1 hour, to reload all cargo, etc.

Glad to hear it all worked out for y'all!!
