Default Chief Pilot - General Pay Scale Information

I realize that the pay will vary, probably dramatically, with the size and economic strength of the company, but I'm looking for some input on generally what a Chief Pilot, managing about 20 pilots and associated business jet charter aircraft, should be expecting as an offer if found to be the successful candidate.

Dont you think he should ask for a little more than a million dollars? Virtucon alone does over a billion.

I think you should ask for (music...) One Hundred Million Dollars!!

Maybe add 20% to what the senior pilot is making.

Is that really the case? As I believe I mentioned in a related post a while ago the chief pilot for the regional airline I work for at the hub I work at is a turboprop FO. Are you saying that he makes 20% more than the most senior RJ captain?

I just did a feasability study for corporate aviation class I taking. A chief pilot for a company say size of home depot or coke will make in the 6 figure range. Size of department will determine the pay....

If you read the initial post, for once this has nothing to do with regional airlines.

Six figure range? Well....yeah! That's a given, but your statement is very broad. I would say that it totally depends on the company. I know a Director of flight ops for a medium to large corporate department and he makes around $300K. Unfortunately in our sector, it's just hard to say. Pro Pilot Magazine publishes a salary survey once a year with great info. My copy from last year is in the plane and this years hasn't come out yet or I'd relay the info. Maybe someone else has it. My guess for a "Home Depot" or "Coke" would be around $140K-$180K.

Well it was broad because no specifics were given as to size of department. There are some departments that the ADM make just over $100k. You are right though in the corporate world numbers arent alway published like airlines
