Can an IPC be done legally on a ATC 610 or 710 simulator? The time can be legally logged for instrument training, but wondering about the IPC.

The manual for the device will tell you if it's approved for it.

We have ATC-710s at my school and they have a letter from the FAA taped to the side of each sim that they are approved to be used for IPCs as well as the 20 hours of training towards an instrument rating. So yes, to my knowledge ya can use them. Will |

I think the answer is no. AFAIK, the 610 is not approved for a circle-to-land maneuver, which is required for an IPC under the "PC" column of the instrument PTS. I'm not quite as sure about the 710, but very few FTDs are.
