Default NYC Area CFI Jobs

Hey NYC Area Folks:
Just passed my CFI-A earlier this month. I currently live in Manhattan. What I am planning on doing this week is driving around and dropping off my resume in person. Since I did some of my training(private) in Long Island, I pretty much know the airports and schools on Long Island to hit up. What I don't know is, what are some of the airportds and schools that are commutable from Manhattan, on the New Jersey side. Or, up to White Plains airport.
So, for those of you that are familiar with NJ, and/or White Plains, if you could list the airport, and then some flight schools on the field that would be good to walk my resume in. Ex. Caldwell airport, Century Air Academy(that's the only one I know). I think there are more at Linden, Teterboro, Etc. Thanks!

First off, I like your name. Up in White Plains (HPN) you have American Flyers where I use to teach and Panorama Flight Service (www.flypfs.com). I don't know much about Panorama but looking on their website shows that their fleet is all brand new Cessna's including some G1000 cockpits. Those are really your only two flight schools in HPN. I don't know how close to Morristown, NJ (MMU) that you are but theres a bunch of schools over there. American Flyers, Select Blue Aviation Academy( i believe is the name), and Certified Flyers II. The Certified Flyers place I recently saw advertising for CFI's. They have a fleet of new Cessna's, Cirrus' and a full motion Cirrus sim. I think they may require a one year contract though if I remember their hiring ad correctly. Good luck in your search.

Riiiiiiiiiight...

P.S. Something I've found out thru my time is NEVER go someplace that 'promises' you anything unless you get it in writing.

they don't promise you anything, but I can see why your skeptical. I've flown there since I was 11 and am currently 18. Every chief flight instructor has gone into the charter system flying King Airs and lear 35s...its work and not promised, but it's a good opportunity either way...flight instruction with the possibility for charter.

That's cool - I hope you can slide into air charters. Working your way up through the ranks certainly will pay off if you can get a shot at the charter dept.

Are you a CFI there?

EDIT: If you want the opinion of someone who worked there, PM me. It sounds like Eric has the perspective as a student...not a CFI working for the B's. I do still keep in contact with them, however, they are nice people.
