I have very.....um how do you say "interesting" taste in music. I can pretty much listen to anything except heavy metal, hardcore rap, country music. I guess that comes from working at my high school radio station for 6 years....(and no it did not take me 6 years to finish high school!) Currently in my CD Case(in no particular order): John Mayer (his new release and his live album) Tony Toni Tone (every album they ever released, awesome group) Bob Marley @ The Wailers Janet Jackson Will Smith Barenaked Ladies Maze feat. Frankie Beverly Blackstreet Shaggy Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions Stevie Wonder Zhane (these two ladies can sing!) Dave Matthews Band (gotta make one of their concerts!) Luther Vandross Maxwell Quincy Jones Phil Collins The Islay Brothers (after 35+ years these guys still have it!) Erykah Badu (amazing singer, got all her albums!) Incubus The Gap Band D'Angelo Mary J Blige Micheal Jackson (Off The Wall was DA BOMB!) Rolling Stones Vertical Horizon Angie Stone Nine Days Donny Hathaway (classic R&B singer) Everclear Jill Scott Lauren Hill The Calling Michelle Branch Musiq Souldchild Santana Sugar Ray Brian McKnight The Steve Millar Band Wayne Wonder The Brothers Johnson Chaka Khan So as you can see I really can listen to pretty much anything! |

Try Evanesence... if there was one good thing about 'Daredevil' it was the soundtrack; and this band is awesome. It's like hard rock but it's very original; no swear words and the lead singer is female. Definately try it out!

[ QUOTE ] They're [Metillica] going on tour!? Who's the new bass player? [/ QUOTE ] Rob Trujillo, who was previously with Suicidal Tendencies. I don't know how he compares to Jason... all I know is that I know hardly anyone who can even compare with Cliff... |

By far my fav is Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Been my favorite since the 80's. I just got the Evanescence CD, it's an awesome cd! Gotta love Pantera, System of a Down, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and definitely Metalica.

I'm in for much of what drumminpilot said, and add in a few little treats like Helmet, Stone Temple Pilots' "No. 4", the Hives, Beastie Boys, Cold Play, soundtrack from "Snatch", some good early Black Sabbath nastiness, "Brown Album" by Primus, anything with a Buddy Rich drum solo in it, Sinatra, Diana Krall, "Globe Sessions" by Cheryl Crow, Chemical Brothers, Queens of the Stone Age, G. Love and Special Sauce, and a long forgotten, much neglected album called "Lucacentric" by Lucas.

I've also the Evanescence CD in right now. These guys are great! I've been waiting for a band like this for a while now, and it's nice to hear the style. Cheers John Herreshoff |

I like classic rock. Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Bruce Springsteen. I also like 80s music. Hootie and the Blowfish was band that I had high hopes for, but the just kind of faded out. I was listening to my copy of their first CD the other day and it still rocks. I havn't heard their new one yet. Country has kind of picked up where rock turned into technopop. Toby Keith is a good'un. |

davetheflyer you are right on with Hootie man!! I see you got some SC roots too. Think it would be against the law to not dig Hootie and reside in SC. They bring pride to the state...or at least for me! The first CD is incredible! I met Darius Rucker last fall. What a cool guy. Heard them on Leno a few nights ago...didnt sound too bad but I was half asleep! |

I'm with you guys on Hootie too. The majority of their stuff rocks, but I also have to say that some of their stuff just flat sucks too. Not a lot of it, but some. I got to meet all the guys at a golf tourney last September, and I have to say, they're all really cool and down to Earth.

[ QUOTE ] Yeah Rage Against the Machine. Also into System of a Down and One Minute Silence. Pretty much anything people would poorly define as "nu-metal" I listen to. While I enjoy heavier music most the time, I listen to and have performed a lot more than that. I've been in a metal band, a funk band, a few jazz bands, some marching bands, concert bands. I espically like listening to drum corp drumline sectionals, those really get me going. So everything from big band jazz to death metal is what I listen to (if you saw my collection of music you'd know I mean it). Cheers John Herreshoff [/ QUOTE ] Ditto on absolutely everything you said (except the funk band part). The band I'm in now plays Christian death metal. |

Hmm I can't do favorites. Last 5 CD's I got* Mattew Good - Avalanche Andrea Bocelli - Romanza The Notwist - Neon Golden Broken Social Scene - You Forgot it in People Flogging Molly - Druken Lullabies * = came into my possession. Can neither confirm nor deny whether they were bought or miraculously appeared on my desktop. Used to be a big DMB fan until Everyday. I am no longer friends with someone because they like John Mayer . As Rolling Stone said "Your Body is a Wonderland" sounded better when it was called "Crash In To Me". And what's with the faces? Dave got away with it because he wasn't consciously trying to look like he was taking a, umm, crap.
