My CFI is still out of town for Easter but another CFI went up with me. I scheduled myself after they had printed the schedule, so he did not know I had sceduled. I preflighted and got back up into the office, expecting him to be there, but he was not. It was 9:15, so I looked at the paper and sure enough my name was not on there. I looked on the computer and it was on there, and it was then I came to the conclusion it got printed out before I had scheduled. I called my regular CFI since his number was not on the computer, waking her up I think (she is in Chicago I think she said, so that is 8:15 there!) She gave it to me and he told me he was in his way in, and apologised. I told him it is okay, it is no one's fault. Anway, we went up and headed out to Clark County, the uncontrolled airport across the river in Indiana. I got there very well today, and he helped me with my entry to the pattern since that is somthing I always have problems with--ie the tear drop entry. Then we did the first landing which was pretty good, and he said good job. He said let's see two more and then we can head back...he said not need to waste money since I am about to solo. There is some many with a scratchy old voice that is kind of funny and annoying at the same time, which my CFI pokes fun at, calling it annoying. On another leg, I am not sure which one, some lady says she is on the ILS apporach, but does not say from what direction. My CFI says the ILS is for Runway 18 (i think) but it was inconsiderate not to give direction since some may not know where that is. Then some guy comes on about wanting to enter the downwind after he shoots across midfield, not bothering to do the teardrop. My CFI tells him we are on the downwind and he says he will enter behind us. He says this is the thing that bugs him. Then we land again. I think we did four in all before heading back and I did great going back. I used to have some trouble getting everything ready to land--ie tuning radios getting clearance, ATIS, etc--but today it goes pretty well. THey ask us to do a short approach after having entered the downwind, which we do and taxi back to the ramp. He says it seems I am ready to solo, and if I was his student, he would have soloed me today. He said he will tell my CFI about the day, and we go in and get the paperwork done and I head home, take a nap (putting off the yardwork to later), and finish reading The Apology of Socrates. My sister begs to the do the lawn, so I say, "If you want to mow the lawn, be my guest. You do not have to." Tommorow I hope to solo, but I could not get on until late, and I am not sure how much daylight we will have left, but hopefully I can. Hopefully this is not my last post |

I do not know. It went somthing like this: Me: I'm going to go mow the lawn. Sister: I want to mow. Me: What? No, I'll mow. Sister: I wan't to mow. Me: Are you sure? Why do you want to mow? Sister: I like mowing the yard Me: okay. I guess so. I do not know why she wanted to, but how can I argue. I hate putting her to work, but she insisted. I did do the hill though and tommorow should pull up some weeds |
