Unfortunatly it wasn't really a part of the plan. MDA was sold to Republic in order to get exit financing for BK2. In the end they ended up getting enough with out the sale of MDA but it had already be sold. As far as I know there was no clause that would allow Airways to buy the planes back. There is a rumor floating around that the DCA and LGA slots are able to be bought back from Republic after 2 years. It is unfortuante because the quality of service isn't as good with RP operating the aircraft not to mention they have been forced to cancel several routes due to not being able to staff the airplanes.
