This had to be one of my most exciting experiences flying ever!!Today I did the outside inspections that the checklist requires, got inside the plane did the things on that checklist , taxiied to the ramp did a runup, tookoff without an inch of help climbed and turned north on rt 110 following it parallel to the express way then flying toward the northport stacks. Now once we took off the visibility wasn't that good but as we went over the shore by the stacks the visibilty was marginal ifr/vfr , and it was snowing very bad at 3000 ft, still snowing and horrible visibilty I practiced 2 minimum controllable airspeeds by myself, and then he really showed me how to use the instruments, he took me in a cloud at the top and told me to find myway back to the northshore using instruments, so Im not ifr yet but I practiced on the simulator and just thought of how I did it there, I remember the orthport stacks are gonna be south of my position cause I was heading east so I started a controlled descent , he told me we'd break out at about 1,500 and sure enough at 1,800(close enough) we came out, then I got to fly it back to the airport while it was still snowing and as we descended it slowly turned into rain, I couldn't see much out the front so I still used my instruments, and then we entered the downwind at a 45 degree angle and I saw better now that the wind form ram air wiped the window clean of moisture, I entered base turned fianal and upon flaring I experienced a little ground effect so my instructor cut the throttle becasue obviously I still had a dab on and I held my flare and sunk down. Pretty neat flight today in a 152.Oh and there were militray planes taking off and langing at kfrg too.
