| I thought the left rudder remark was hilarious! On a serious note, I don't think that spins should be part of the pre-solo training, but I am all for spin awareness and a lot more stall training. BTW this is my first post on JC in a LONG time....LOL |

and tags.. for that specific purpose just so everyone understands where your coming from.maybe in the future if you are indeed kidding... then at the bottom stick an "i kid.. i kid" or "kidding/joking" liek some do just so 100% of the members/guests understand that your totally NOT being serious. k?! ![]() ![]() | |

| Old Skool | point taken. but, you say smilies are taken as a "joke" so then shouldnt everyone have known that i was kidding when i told the kid to put in full left rudder during a power on stall?! your honor, i present exhibit A ^^ (being playful while making a point)

| Big Chief's Woman | yes but sometimes they seem so subtle that they might need additional "jokster" quotes....to me, i really couldn't tell whether you were joking or not and apparently neither could some others - so if you think someone might not get it, then stick something extra in there.... |

| Stalling a plane never gets boring, especially when you have people sitting in the back and the look on their faces is just hilarious. |

| I was working with a primary student out in Jacksonville. We were practicing power on stalls, and the student would not use the rudder properly despite every demonstration I could show him. The student just could not grasp the concept of proper rudder useage. During departure stalls I would tell the student constantly more right rudder, and I would put the correct amount of right rudder in just as the airpalne stalled. I didn't want to spin, but I got tired of telling him. So, I told the student to climb to 5,000 feet to continue stall practice. He didn't even ask me why we were going up so high. Upon reaching 5,000 feet, I told the student that I was going to place my feet flat on the floor and not touch anything during the stall and recovery. He put the airplane into a departure attitude and continued to pull back on the yoke as he was adding power. I didn't tell him he needed more right rudder, this was a lesson he needed to learn on his own. As predicted, the airplane stalled and violently rolled onto its back and pitched nose down. We were in a spin! The student looked at me for guidance and I told him to recover from the spin as he learned how to on the ground. Long story short, he now knows the proper use of the rudder. |

| Old Skool | so true. good ole sp's they run 10/hr more where i train though. so i count up the number of times i have to manipulate the carb heat control, divide 10 by that number, and thats how much i 'get paid' every time i pull the carb heat ![]()

| Nah. Nothing too exciting. It's been at least 5 months since I did any aerobatic flying. I need to sneak some more time in the Extras that I have 'access' too sometime soon! There are definitely benefits to having friends who are aerobatic instructors.
