TWO FACTS OF AIRLINE LIFE.

1. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A PILOT SHORTAGE.
2. THERE NEVER WILL BE A PILOT SHORTAGE.

Back before there was such a wide availabilitiy of aviation information on the internet, folks like FAPA and Air Inc would talk about pilot shortages in order to sell goods and servics.

Kit Darby was the 'go to' guy for the world of the airline pilot.

He'd talk about mass retirements from the Vietnam era, how airlines were going to be clamoring for pilots and how if you purchased his goods and services, you'd be able to more sucessfully interview and more quickly capitalize on the hiring rush.

He sold A LOT of material.

They've been talking about an upcoming "pilot shortage" since I was in high school.

there was a german in my high school junior english class. he told me if i was ever in germany or eastern france to walk up to a good looking girl and say "mein schwanz ist ein flammenworfer"

"my (male sexual organ) is a flamethrower"

so last summer i met up with some germans at a subway in strasbourg France that were wanting me to critique their english, so we exchanged phrases. they said my accent was pretty good, but were more concerned with what percentage of texans actually wore cowboy boots.

and wannabee- im pretty fluent in spanish.

speaking spanish comes in handy in my area ( ATL ). I had a Russian roommate in college. All I know is one bad word. Well, it's a good word if your on " my team " . BTW, Here in GA, the immigrants are protesting not to work or buy goods due to Bush's law he's trying to get passed. I believe the protest is Sat. Also in WI.

I'm not sure how much Michael Vick's alias ( Ron Mexico ) was in the news outside of Atlanta.
